Prohibition Tour by Alton Odyssey Tours
When the 18th Amendment went into effect in 1919, law-abiding businesses shuttered, but the booze didn’t stop flowing... it just went underground. Madison County became a booming haven for bootleggers, rum runners, illicit moonshiners, and organized crime figures traveling down from Chicago and St. Louis.
Join Alton Odyssey Tours for an immersive 3-hour journey through Alton’s wild, prohibition-era past!
