About this Event

IBEW LOCAL 3 APPRENTICE SHORTS - A collection of 5-6 min long frontline films centered on union life and being an apprentice electrician in IBEW Local 3. Using only a smartphone, SUNY Van Arsdale students are taught how to shoot and edit video in order to depict a personal truth that might otherwise be framed incorrectly in the mainstream media, where stories about workers and their unions are often distorted and untruthful. (Approx 1 hr 10m, 2025-2026, Directors: Various)

Shorts to precede:

KEY(STONE) LIME(STONE) - Histories and memories of industry (especially cement manufacturing in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania), domestic labor, immigration, and family are entwined in a merging of narrative poetry, stop motion animation (melding mineral and organic materials), and documentary-style video footage. (4m, 2025, Director: Anne Ciecko)

IATSE LOCAL 52 LABOR DAY PARADE 2025 - IATSE Local 52 members celebrate Labor Day in NYC by marching with their float up Fifth Avenue. (6m, 2025, Director: Max Frankston)
