Course Overview22-23.July - 10am-3pm Cost of Course - £50
In this class you will learn how to work with modelling chocolate and make a figures out of modelling chocolate.
What should I bring to the first lesson?
Equipment and materials to bring for the class:
Materials:
Saracino modelling chocolate or brand of your choice
500g Brown modelling chocolate
250g white modelling chocolate
200g white modelling paste
100g black modelling paste (for the trousers, eyes & accessories)
100g. coloured fondant or modelling paste – colour of your choice (for the Gillette and for the board) – could be green; red; violet; orange etc.
Or
Gel colour of your choice –violet; red; khaki;
Dust colours – white, yellow, green, dark brown; Gold dust colour; bronze; copper/silver
Cake boards – 1 x 20 or 15 cm diameter – 1cm thickness; 1 x 10cm diameter
For the body: 1 polystyrene egg- 10cm length
For the head: 1 polystyrene ball – 4-4,5cm diameter

(If you would like your model to be entirely edible, you can substitute the polystyrene egg and ball with the same shapes made out of rice creaspies and marshmallow)
Instruments:
Silicon mat (table cover)
Texturizing mat or texturizing rolling pin;
Rolling pin - medium size (for rolling the paste)
Board or mat (for rolling the paste on)
Modelling instruments – Dresden tool; Ball tool; Thin rolling pin; Scalpel; Craft knife & scissors
Small dish to mix dust colours & vodka
Steam punk elements mould (bolts; buttons; nuts; washers; rack wheels etc.)
Cornstarch duster; Edible glue; Dusting brushes +№1 § 0 for the eyes
3 cocktail sticks; 4 BBQ bamboo sticks
1 x florist wire – 20’’ or 18’’; 1 x 30’’ coloured with golden colour
Florist tape –black or brown or white
You should bring packed lunch and drink
