About this Event
American Artists Project: Variations is proud to present a full day workshop geared for teachers in studios and schools, and rehabilitative and community programs. Join us if you have students who are neurodiverse or disabled, students who learn differently or are in need of a modified approach.
Those who attend this professional development will possess the skills and knowledge to:
1. Exhibit, with confidence, that any student/client can receive accommodations, that any student/client can benefit from social-emotional learning, and that every student/client is limitless in what they can accomplish in the Arts.
2. Receive students who learn differently with innovative modifications to movement ensuring teacher confidence and student success.
3. Establish successful adapted arts programs and increase enrollment in existing studio programs.
4. Create learning environments where basic and emotional needs are respectfully met so that optimal learning is acquired and retained.
5. Learn from motor development, music, dance and art therapists to better understand the science of differences and importance of vocal, visual, tactile and movement expression.
Presenters will be:
Dr. Jody Jensen - University of Texas Professor of Motor Development and Cognition
