Advanced Luminary- Wet Cane: Early Afternoon Session 12-3pm (3 sessions)
Ages 18+
Learn how to build a beautiful luminary using wet cane technique in a 3 week class. You must be able to attend all sessions and work on your project between classes to finish. Each class consists of Instructor lead class time. The student will need to return to the studio on their own time to finish the weekly task prior to the next scheduled class. Select from existing patterns (includes Luna moth, birds, moon, seahorse etc.)
Please stop by the Procession studio prior to the first class. select your design and trace 2 copies of the pattern for your use. Supplies and instructions are in the luminary area of the studio. Ask a volunteer for assistance if needed. Studio hours can be found on Procession.org web site.
Early Afternoon Class, Saturdays 12:00-3:00 PM
- 1st week (4/4/26) Learn how to cut and staple cane onto plywood in the shape of your pattern. Glue cane and remove the piece from the board. ·
- 2nd week (4/11/26) Learn how to structurally, build out your design, install lights, and add your first layer of structural paper. ·
- 3rd week (4/18/26) Add decorative paper and enhance your design.
All materials included: pattern, cane, clippers, X-Acto, knife, staple gun, hot glue gun, needle-nose pliers, LED lights, tracing & mulberry paper.
