Pro Sailor Shares Expertise in Racing SeminarICE CREAM & RACING RULES 🍨⛵️
Sail Charlevoix and Charlevoix Yacht Club are pleased to sponsor a racing seminar with pro sailor Dave Gerber of Harbor Springs. The event is Monday, July 1 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Charlevoix Yacht Club at 220 Ferry Avenue.
David Gerber is a professional sailing coach and instructor, based in Traverse City, where he offers technical sales support and consultation for Quantum Sails.
He has won multiple National North American and World Championships in the J/22, J/24, J/111, Melges 24 and Farr 40 classes. In addition to racing, David has directed sailing programs and coached youth, high school and adult teams including the Traverse Area Community Sailing (TACS) and Chicago Yacht Club. He is currently Executive Sailing Director of Little Traverse Sailors in Harbor Springs.
David holds certifications from US Sailing as a Level 1, 2 and 3 sailor, along with Keelboat Instructor and Program Manager. A father to 6 kids, who all know how to sail, David loves being on the water with young sailors.
The event is free to Sail Charlevoix students, staff and all Charlevoix Yacht Club members. All others are welcome with a $5.00 donation to the Sail Charlevoix general fund. Doors open are 6:15 p.m.
The focus of the evening is the racing seminar; however, ice cream will be served (an ice cream social of sorts) after David's presentation. $3.00 per bowl and additional donations are welcome to support the Sail Charlevoix CREW Group fundraising project.
