About this Event
The rules around data and AI in Western Australia are changing. Are your projects ready?
With the introduction of the PRIS Act (Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act), WA public sector, local government, and NFP leaders are facing a brand-new privacy landscape. If you are managing or overseeing AI and data projects, understanding these new obligations isn't just best practice it's essential.
JoinWA AI HubWestern Australia's leading voice in AI training and standards for an intensive, highly practical masterclass designed specifically for WA leaders.
We are skipping the high-level theory and getting straight into the reality of AI governance. Using real-world case studies involving biometric technology, Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), and automated decision-making, we will show you exactly what you need to do to stay compliant and protect your community.
You won’t just sit and listen; you will roll up your sleeves and leave with a concrete, ready-to-use governance artefact to immediately apply in your organisation.
This WA AI Hub course is for WA public-sector, local-government, NFP and AI project leaders. It responds to the new WA privacy environment under the PRIS Act and uses practical case material including biometric technology, PIAs and automated decision-making. Participants leave with a concrete governance artefact they can use in their organisation.
What we will tackle together:

- Navigating IPP 10 and Automated Decisions:Learn how to spot, measure, and mitigate the hidden risks of bias, harm, and discrimination when using automated decision-making (ADM).
- Your Responsible AI Roadmap:We don’t just talk about compliance; we build it. You will map out a practical PRIS readiness checklist tailored directly to one of your current AI or data projects.
