We are very excited to share some printmaking workshops which will be happening in August. Led by artist Carla Smith, the workshops will explore printmaking using recycled Tetra Pak. Over the course of three evening sessions, you will explore this printmaking technique and develop your creativity through playing with colour and layering. Throughout the sessions, we will also explore chine-collé, a process to add more colours and pick out finer details within your prints. This workshop is open to beginners (age 16+) as well as those with existing printmaking experience, delivered with a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere, these workshops promise to be enjoyable and fun for all.
Please note our booking system requires you to book onto each of the 3 events. You can email [email protected] if you need help with booking.
There is no specific fee to attend these workshops as we strive to make sure our events are accessible to all. Any donations you are able to make to support the Hub@531 are always very warmly received - you can donate with cash or card when you attend.
Carla Smith is a contemporary artist who recently completed a year-long residency at Peacock and the Worm, a printmaking studio in Aberdeen. Carla has had her prints exhibited in various galleries and organisations such as the RSA, Moray Art Centre and Compass Gallery.
