We’re back—and this year’s ReUnion means more than ever.
Each year, Print Shop members, artists, makers, friends, neighbors, and community partners gather in our backyard beside the train tracks for an afternoon of art, food, creativity, and community. We had to skip last year while Jeff was hospitalized, so this year’s gathering is especially meaningful: a reunion, a homecoming, and a celebration that the presses are still rolling.
Because September’s usual First Saturday falls during Labor Day weekend, we are moving our monthly public open house to the second Saturday and combining it with the ReUnion.
Come explore Print Shop, see the equipment in action, reconnect with members, meet artists and community organizations using the space, and discover what is being created here every day.
Thanks to grant support from the Holyoke Local Cultural Council, Print Shop will be able to provide materials for demonstrations and hands-on creative activities throughout the day. These grant-supported activities will be free and open to the public.
The larger ReUnion is also an important fundraiser for the future of Print Shop.
Nonprofits and arts organizations are facing reduced grant funding, rising costs, and growing uncertainty. To keep this community resource open, affordable, and accessible, we need to return to the kind of grassroots fundraising that helped build Print Shop in the first place.
Years ago, our community rallied around an idea. People donated money, materials, tools, time, talent, and plenty of muscle to help transform an empty space into a working community print shop. Now, we’re asking that community to rally with us again.
There will be:
• Printmaking and production demonstrations
• Hands-on creative activities
• Open-house tours
• Art, prints, and locally made merchandise for sale
• Food and drinks
• Print Shop members, artists, makers, and community organizations
• Opportunities to support the next chapter of Print Shop
Whether you helped build Print Shop, made your first sticker here, printed a banner, pressed a shirt, participated in a program, or have simply been curious about what happens behind our doors, this day is for you.
Bring your friends. Bring your family. Bring your ideas—and help us keep making room for creativity in Holyoke.
The demonstrations and grant-supported activities are free. A $10–$20 suggested donation supports Print Shop’s nonprofit programs, equipment, operations, and community workspace.
Real people. Real projects. Real impact.
More announcements about participating artists, vendors, demonstrations, food, activities, and surprises are coming soon.
This program is funded in part by a grant from the Holyoke Local Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
