Attention all classroom teachers and subject leaders:
We are delighted to invite you to attend a FREE science CPD session run by award winning science teachers from the Primary Science Teaching Trust and hosted at Wimbledon High School, (SW19 4AB) on Monday 11th November 2024 between 15:45 and 17:00.
Attendeess will be able to choose one practical workshop to attend from a choice of:
- Developing Science Enquiry Skills in the classroom
This session will focus on strategies and activities to support KS2 children develop a range of scientific skills, which can subsequently be applied in their own scientific investigations.
- Outdoor learning
How can we use our outdoor spaces to teach science? This session will look at utilising spaces around school and local green spaces to support the teaching of topics such as plants, habitats and forces.
- Science in the Early Years classroom
A guide to free resources to support planning and learning for 3 – 5-year-olds and tips on how to use them.
- Using to teach Materials (ages 5 to 11 years old)
The free award-winning primary science resource has just published new activities to support Assessment for Learning and retrieval practice across the entire Materials curriculum. The same approach can be applied to other science topics. Explorify is jointly run by the PSTT and Stem Learning.
- Assessing science learning in the Primary Classroom
This session will give tips on how to assess children’s knowledge and enquiry skills and introduce teachers to a range of free supporting resources.
