Pride of Place Living Workshop 4: Resolving Conflict & Handling Complaints

Join us for Workshop 4 in our Living in LGBTQ+ Co-housing series, back in the city centre on a Thursday evening.

This session focuses on resolving conflict and handling complaints in a community led housing project. Conflict happens in every community. The difference is whether you have shared tools, clear expectations, and fair processes before things get difficult.

We will explore where conflict might arise in the Pride of Place Living scheme, how we each tend to react under pressure, and what it looks like to respond in a way that protects relationships, trust and shared values. We will also look at practical ways to handle complaints, including informal routes and more formal processes, so issues can be raised and resolved without escalation.

Light refreshments will be provided by Pride of Place Living. Please arrive from 5.30pm if you would like to eat first. The session will start promptly at 6.00pm.

The workshop will:

• Explore where conflict might arise in a co-housing scheme, from shared spaces to communication and expectations
• Help you understand your own conflict responses and what triggers them
• Practise tools for managing conflict as individuals and as a group, including reacting versus responding
• Explore how complaints can be raised and handled fairly, using informal and formal routes
• Agree practical principles we can build into Pride of Place Living as the project progresses

This is a participatory session designed to be practical and reflective rather than technical. You do not need prior experience of mediation, governance or housing to take part.
