The We Were Always Here research team will be at the Pride Hub from 6pm. At 6:30pm, Andrew Foyle, project Historian and co-founder of Outstories, Bristol, will give a talk on Why LGBTQIA+ History Matters.
We'll then talk about We Were Always Here, our exciting project to find out more about LGBTQIA+ history in Wiltshire - and how you can help us capture Wiltshire’s hidden queer social history.
Talk: Why LGBTQ+ History Matters (35-40 minutes)
A personal reflection on the importance of LGBTQ+ history, referencing recent research and lived experience.
Andrew Foyle is a social and architectural historian living in Bristol, and a founder member of OutStories, a community group working in LGBTQ+ history. He is part of the team working on We Were Always Here, a groundbreaking community history project launched this Spring across Wiltshire.
