Preview talk about Jennie Rothenberg Gritz's new book!

Join us for a special preview talk about Jennie Rothenberg Gritz’s forthcoming book, The Inward Trip: The Untold Story of Meditation in the West. Jennie grew up in Fairfield and has been living in Washington, DC, for the past 20 years, working as a senior editor at The Atlantic and Smithsonian magazine. She’ll share what she learned from three years of reporting on meditation in America—for instance, how yoga caught on among 19th-century New England women, and why conservative Japanese Zen became bohemian in San Francisco. She’ll talk about the history, the culture, and the latest scientific research, and the very unique role this community has played in all of it.
