Preston Moves - about us

Preston Moves is a new city-wide partnership working with communities to support and inspire people to move more.

We're at an early stage - talking to community leaders and spaces to understand how their communities work, what barriers exist, and where we can be useful.

We recognise that community leaders are working hard for change across our city. The goal of our System Leadership workshop is to help us work collaboratively.

The workshops

Our programme is designed for people working across organisational boundaries in Preston. It's practical and grounded in Preston's own challenges and priorities, and designed to be immediately useful.

It's a two-day commitment and you need to attend both days. We will be running workshops in the autumn if you can't attend this one. Contact Amy (see below) if you'd like to be added to the priority waiting list for these dates.

Day one (9 July, 9:30 - 4pm) focuses on understanding the system you're part of - how Preston works, where complexity shows up, and what system leadership actually means in practice.

Day two (13 July, 9:30 - 4pm)) shifts to application - building shared purpose, mapping relationships and influence, identifying where you can have the most impact, connecting your everyday work to the wider system.

Who should come?

You don't need a particular job title - you need to be the kind of person who's already trying to work differently.

Leaders and practitioners working across Preston who are navigating complexity, working across organisational boundaries, or trying to create change that no single organisation can deliver alone.

The practicalities

Our lunch is vegan-friendly and our venue is accessible and welcoming to all. Please advise of any other dietary requirements and of any accessibility needs. We want everybody to be welcome. Bikes and acessibility scooters are welcome inside.
