Preston Moves - Netwalking in September - Avenham Park
About this Event
Preston Moves is a new city-wide partnership working with communities to support and inspire people to move more.
We recognise that many people in our city are working to support their communities to get active - including community leaders, project volunteers, activity club members, GPs, mental health workers, youth workers, teachers, faith leaders, community gardeners, community nurses, coaches, bike ride leaders, comms professionals, running influencers - so many people working to inspire and support others.
One of our goals is to connect this community so that we can support and inspire each other.
Netwalking
Each month Preston Moves will host a free netwalk (networking walk) in a different Preston park. It will be at a chatty pace and whilst not a guided tour it will be led by a member of the Preston Moves team. It’s a chance for you to meet new people, perhaps in new places.
Zooms
Each month we are also hosting a free Thursday lunchtime Zoom which will be an opportunity to meet new people, share your news and ask your questions.
And to support these we created a WhatsApp Community Group which event attendees and those messaging [email protected] are welcome to join. You’ll be able to connect with others, find out about events, promote your own and ask questions.
September's route will explore Avenham Park and we will meet at the Pavillian at 5:30 and set-off at 5:45pm.
Dress for the weather and wear comfy shoes. Routes will be accessible and we are accompanied-children and dog-on-lead-friendly. Please let us know if you have any specific accessibility issues and we will support them sensitively.
BYO refreshments - and please don’t feel nervous about coming alone. It’s a networking space. Please also feel welcome to come and leave a little early.
