Discover how food memories, family traditions, and everyday cooking can become part of your personal story. This hands‑on workshop guides you through documenting a meaningful recipe using simple templates. You are invited to bring a family recipe or a food memory to work with during the session.
The workshop includes short instructional segments, guided writing time, and opportunities to share stories with others. A recipe swap table will also be available, with cards provided for anyone who would like to contribute or take home a new dish to try.
You will leave with the beginnings of a recorded recipe and tools to use to continue preserving your family food traditions.
This workshop will be lead by Dr. Niki Davis, Professor of Practice in Hospitality, Tourism and Event Management at SIUC and host of The Recipe Box podcast. The Recipe Box is a food podcast that explores beloved family recipes, their histories, and stories behind them.
