Many of us are fortunate enough to have family memorabilia passed down to us through generations. This comes in many forms, including photo albums, scrapbooks, and bibles. These items not only give us glimpses into our pasts and clues towards piecing together family stories, but also help engage the next generation of family historians. Proper care and storage of these memories is important in preserving them for the future. This presentation will address storage, handling, and condition concerns commonly associated with memorabilia, including practical approaches to common issues.
Speaker: Kristi Wright, principal of Wright Conservation & Framing, is a book and paper conservator in private practice based in Front Royal, Virginia. Kristi has been active in the field for over twenty years and is a professional member of the American Institute for Conservation (AIC). Her interest in conservation was initially sparked by merging her love of history with a desire to do hands-on work, and this continues to evolve.
