Madness, revenge, and the supernatural: "Hamlet" remains one of the most well-known of all Shakespeare plays, and for good reason. This powerful tale of vengeance and insanity still retains the power to thrill audiences everywhere. Blending tension, pathos, and poetry, Hamlet remains as exciting and relevant to modern audiences as ever.
Actors From The London Stage celebrates its 50th anniversary with a triumphant return to one of Shakespeare's most iconic titles. Since 2000, Actors From The London Stage has called Notre Dame home. The company travels to multiple colleges and universities nationwide twice yearly, and every tour is coordinated and managed by Shakespeare at Notre Dame. Each member of this self-directed ensemble portrays multiple roles while favoring minimal props and costumes, creating a theatrical experience like no other.
The ghost of the King of Denmark tells his son Hamlet to avenge his murder by killing the new king, Hamlet's uncle. Hamlet feigns madness, contemplates life and death, and seeks revenge. His uncle, fearing for his life, also devises plots to K*ll Hamlet. The tension rises, culminating in a fateful duel between Hamlet and Laertes, a duel whose outcome leads to tragedy for all.
