Present Tense is making its anticipated return to Eastern Bloc, bringing a night of cutting-edge sounds and unmissable energy. This time, we’re thrilled to present a true Birmingham talent: Jayson Wynters.Jayson Wynters is a name that resonates deeply within the underground scene. Known for his ability to blend genres effortlessly, Wynters began his career as a garage MC in his hometown of Birmingham. His journey took off in the city’s underground radio and club circuit, where his unique style quickly garnered attention. In 2015, his career hit a pivotal moment when techno legend Mr. G recognized his potential and signed him to his prestigious Phoenix G label, it was only the second time Mr. G's label had released work from an artist other than the founder himself.
Wynters’ sets are an exploration of his life experiences and vast record collection. A standout set for Present Tense HQ at this years Freerotation festival, we feel very fortunate to host his forward-thinking artistry, which is constantly evolving and pushing boundaries, making him a perfect guest for the Present Tense sound.
Present Tense's Event Maestro Amy Amor returns to the decks, and this time she is bringing back some of the original Present Tense residents with her from the Bristol days. A firm favourite of the Welsh Scene Shaun Edwards, whom has curated many a project such as Dogruff, LAF and his new labour of love Wax Galatique, will be joining Amy B2B! Their chemistry on the decks is undeniable, and they’re sure to bring the energy that has been at the essence of the many events they have played alongside each other over the years. Completing the Midlands contingency, we have Etym, whose experimental approach and rhythmic intensity will round out a night of diverse and innovative sounds.
Join us for an electrifying night filled with forward-thinking beats, a stellar lineup, and the return of Present Tense as it was always meant to be—bold, boundary-pushing, and unmissable.
