Would you like to become a Museum Foodie? Our Foodie Group meet monthly to discuss, cook and eat food inspired by stories from our collection, artists and events we programme, as well as our own members heritage’s and backgrounds. Our workshops are informal, chatty and a chance to meet new people, as well as learn about new recipes and cooking traditions.
This month’s Foodie Group we will be joined by dancer, theatre maker and artist Nancy Hitzig who will be sharing her grandmother’s handwritten honey cake recipe with us! Honey cake is traditionally eaten to celebrate the Jewish New Year celebration of Rosh Hashanah in the hope of ensuring a sweet year to come. We’ll be exploring some stories in our collection that connect to this joyous festival too!
This workshop is part of our programme for Cheetham Cultural Festival and we welcome all new attendees to cook and share food with us – no cooking experience necessary!
