Premium Greek Wine Tasting in Liverpool
About this Event
Join us at Meat Me Liverpool for a guided tasting of six premium Greek wines, exploring indigenous grape varieties, boutique wineries and different expressions of modern Greek winemaking.
From sparkling rosé and fresh whites to expressive rosés and characterful reds, we’ll take you through a carefully selected line-up showcasing wines from different parts of Greece.
Cheese and a taste of Greek gyros will be served alongside selected wines as pairings, giving you the chance to see how different flavours work together in the glass and on the plate.
The Wines
🥂 Theopetra Sparkling Rosé
We’ll start with Greek bubbles, a fresh and lively introduction to the tasting.
🥂 Argyrakis Wines Áti White | Naoussa
From Northern Greece, a distinctive white that offers a different perspective on the varieties and winemaking of Naoussa.
🌸 Argyrakis Wines Áti Rosé | Naoussa
Our first expression of Xinomavro, showing the fresher and more delicate side of one of Greece’s most important indigenous varieties.
🌸 Domaine Zacharioudakis Victoria | Crete
We’ll then travel south to Crete for a completely different style of Greek rosé.
🍷 Argyrakis Wines Áti Red | Naoussa
Back to Xinomavro, this time as a red, showing another side of this fascinating Northern Greek grape.
🍷 Argyrakis Wines Chronos | Naoussa
We’ll finish the tasting with one of Argyrakis Wines' limited-production Chronos wines, bringing the evening to a more complex and distinctive finish.
What to Expect
Over the evening, we’ll guide you through six premium Greek wines, sharing the stories behind the grapes, wineries and regions as we taste.
Small cheese and Greek gyros pairings will accompany selected wines, chosen to complement the tasting rather than turn it into a meal.
No previous wine knowledge is needed. Whether you already know your Xinomavro or Greek wine is completely new to you, this is a relaxed opportunity to taste, ask questions and discover something different.
