About this Event
Join Toronto's poet laureate and legendary dub poet Lillian Allen as she leads writers and poets of all levels through a once-in-a-lifetime workshop. In this session, writers will explore the possibilities of language "beyond words," as Allen identifies sources of inspiration for emotive subtext, stylization, and the uses of sound to enliven and intensify one's poetry. Participants will have an opportunity to create a new poem of their own with one of Canada's master artists. Poets and writers at any level are welcome.
This interactive pre-show is followed by Canisia Lubrin & Billy-Ray Belcourt: Poetry in the 21st Century, which starts at 7pm in the Appel Salon. You can register for that event here, but please note if you wish to attend the pre-event you need to register separately on this page.
