This forum is an informal opportunity for community members to meet with local fire and emergency service partners before fire season begins. Representatives from Lookingglass Fire, Douglas County Emergency Management, Douglas County Search & Rescue, and the Douglas Forest Protective Association will be available to share information, answer questions, and discuss how residents can better prepare for wildfire season and other emergencies.Topics may include defensible space, evacuation planning, public use restrictions, emergency notifications, wildfire response, medical response, search and rescue operations, and ways the community can stay informed and prepared.
This is not a formal presentation. It is intended to be a community conversation and Q&A session where residents can ask questions, get accurate information, and better understand how local agencies work together to help keep Lookingglass safe.
We want to hear what questions you may have pertaining to emergency management and wildfire season in the Lookingglass area.
Please feel free to comment on this event or message us directly with any questions, concerns, or topics you would like addressed during the Pre-Season Fire Community Forum.
Our goal is to provide the community with accurate information, improve preparedness, and ensure residents have the opportunity to speak directly with local emergency service partners prior to fire season.
The forum will be recorded and later posted to the Lookingglass Rural Fire District webpage for those unable to attend in person.
