Join us for our second session of the pre-clinical teaching series (sem 2)! We will be going over heart sounds and ECG.About this Event
Learning Objectives:
- To be familiar with the principles of heart sounds, including their physiological relationship to the cardiac valves and cardiac cycle.
- To understand the methods of auscultation, and the differences in audibility and timing between heart sounds.
- To understand the principles of the cardiac conduction system and describe its relationship to normal physiological functioning.
- To know the steps of how to record an ECG, including where each electrode is placed.
- To be able to interpret an ECG, including identifying the key features and how they relate to the cardiac conduction system.
- To be introduced to the concept of stenosis and regurgitation, and how this may impact murmurs.
