Oasis family,In light of the string of recent events: the sudden loss of two of our brothers Donnie and Mark, school shootings, the senseless murder of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska, then the assassination of Charlie Kirk yesterday, and just today another of our brothers in Christ Tom Hunsicker has suffered a heart attack (he’s currently doing ok…more to follow)...as the church, we are called to pray.
So many are running a gauntlet of emotions: grieving, hurting, frustrated, confused, angry…all of which we cannot bear the weight of on our own. We need a time to call upon God and pray for his strength and guidance in these dark and difficult days.
We will be hosting a prayer gathering this Saturday the 13th from 2-3pm at the church.
We will pray for:
Peace and comfort for the families of the victims and the loss of loved ones.
Joy and grief to occupy the same space
Unity in the church
Unity in our city and country
The strength and steadiness to stand firm in our faith and the truth of the gospel
God’s guidance, provision, and protection
One another

Ephesians 6:10-13, 18 NIV
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
