The Kalagriha School of Performing Arts invites you to an evening celebrating the timeless flow of Indian classical dance, featuring performances by its dedicated students.Joining them on stage will be a talented showcase of guest student dancers from various Indian classical dance schools across Ottawa. Following the success of Navarupa, Stuti's second major production is proudly supported by a Creation and Production Grant from the City of Ottawa.
Pravāha's guest Artist, Archana Raja's Kuchipudi work, "The Accidental Goddess," will premiere on September 14, 2025—marking its first presentation in Ottawa, Canada!
Based in San Jose, California, Archana is a Kuchipudi artist, teacher, and choreographer who is currently training under Sri Kasi Aysola. She serves as the Artistic Director of Laya Dance Company. Acclaimed for her emotional depth and technical skill, Archana has performed at prestigious venues such as Jacob’s Pillow, Krishna Gana Sabha, and the Nishagandhi Festival.
In "The Accidental Goddess," Archana brings to life an old folk tale from Northern Karnataka about Renuka, a princess who transforms into the goddess Yellamma. This performance explores how systems of power can silence women while highlighting their strength and identity through age-old stories.
