🎃 PRATTVILLE’S POP-UP COSTUME PARADE 2026!
👻Friday, October 30, 2026 • 6:00 P.M.
📍 Meet Near Spillway Park
ADMISSION IS FREE!!!
Put on your favorite costume and come take a walk through Historic Downtown Prattville with us!
This is a fun, informal **COSTUME PARADE for kids and KIDS AT HEART!** There’s no judging, no competition and no need for an elaborate costume. Homemade, silly, clever, colorful, whimsical or completely ridiculous—we just want to see Prattville dressed up and having some fun!
💜 **FUN, NOT FRIGHTENING!**
Because this event is designed primarily with children and families in mind, please choose **family-friendly costumes only. No scary, gory or violent costumes, realistic weapons or frightening masks/props.**
Think **fun rather than frightening!** 👻🧙‍♀️🦖👑🦸
🎃 **THE ROUTE**
We’ll gather at the Spillway Park near the parking lot and begin our walk at approximately 6:00 p.m.
From Spillway Park, we’ll walk toward the Fountain on Court Street, then head down Main Street toward City Hall. At Chestnut Street near The Lyric, we’ll use the designated crosswalk to cross Main Street and make our way back up Main Street. From there, we’ll return along Court Street then cross the street at the crosswalk to Spillway Park, where our walk will end. You can, at any time, stop in to shop with local merchants or enjoy the festivities that the City of Prattville has organized.
⚠️ **SAFETY FIRST**
This is an informal walking event on public sidewalks. Streets will NOT be closed for this activity.
All participants MUST remain on public sidewalks and obey traffic laws, pedestrian signals and designated crosswalks. Children should remain with a responsible adult throughout the walk.
🚫 No bicycles
🚫 No scooters
🚫 No motorized vehicles or ride-on devices
🐾 Pets are welcome but MUST remain on a leash at all times. Owners are responsible for keeping their pets safely under control and cleaning up after them.
🍬 THIS IS A COSTUME PARADE — NOT A TRICK-OR-TREAT EVENT!
There are no organized candy or treat distribution points associated with the parade. We aren't walking downtown to collect treats—we're doing it because dressing up is FUN and costumes deserve to be seen!
Individual downtown businesses may be open and conducting their normal business, but candy distribution is **not part of the organized event.**
🏛️ **PLEASE NOTE:** Prattville’s Pop-up Costume Parade is not organized, sponsored or operated by the City of Prattville. This is a casual community event organized by a downtown merchant who loves dressing up for fun and thought Prattville needed an excuse for everyone to put on a costume and take a walk together!
There are no floats, vehicles or formal parade units—just kids, families, friends and kids at heart walking through downtown in costume and having a good time.
So grab your cape, witch hat, dinosaur tail, princess dress, friendly ghost sheet—or whatever makes you smile—and join us!
REMEMBER:
💜 Kids and kids at heart welcome!
🎃 Fun, not frightening.
👻 Costumes, not candy.
🚶 Just a good old-fashioned walk through downtown dressed up for fun!
