PRANIC POWER YOGA
ALL LEVELS Traditional Hatha Asana
Join Karla for a dynamic, all-levels Hatha Yoga class rooted in the traditional teachings of Yog Philosophy and designed to awaken, direct, and strengthen the flow of Prāṇa - the vital life force that animates the body, mind and spirit.
This 60-minute practice blends the wisdom of classical Hatha Yoga with a more energizing, power-oriented approach, offering an experience that is both accessible and deeply meaningful.
In the yogic tradition, the purpose of asana extends far beyond stretching, flexibility or physical fitness. Every posture, transition and intentional movement was originally designed to influence the movement of prāṇa throughout the subtle body.
Through mindful practice, yoga helps remove stagnation, cultivate balance and support the flow of energy through the body's energetic pathways, known as nāḍīs. When prāṇa flows harmoniously, we experience greater vitality, steadiness, mental clarity and a deeper sense of connection to ourselves.
The word 'Hatha' translates as the union of opposing yet complementary forces: 'Ha' (Sun) and 'Tha' (Moon). These energies symbolize activity and receptivity, strength and softness, effort and surrender.
Hatha Yoga seeks to bring these qualities into balance, creating harmony within the body and mind while preparing the practitioner for deeper states of awareness.
This class welcomes students of all experience levels and variations will be offered throughout the practice, allowing each person to explore the postures in a way that honors their own body and goals.
Whether you are stepping onto the mat for the first time or have years of experience, you will be encouraged to cultivate both challenge and compassion within your practice.
The pacing of Pranic Power offers opportunities to build strength, generate heat, improve mobility, enhance stability and develop resilience ~ all while remaining connected to the breath.
Students will be invited to understand how specific movements support the circulation of energy, how breath guides awareness and how the discipline of practice can become a pathway toward greater balance in everyday life.
This class is taught in a style that reflects Karla's 30 years of personal study and practice, informed by extensive training in both the South & North Indian Ashram traditions. Rooted in traditional teachings while responsive to the needs of modern practitioners, her approach honors yoga as a holistic system for living.
Students are encouraged to have 2 yoga blocks, as they will be specifically incorporated into class sequence to support accessibility, refine alignment, deepen awareness, build strength and create opportunities for isometric awakening.
Come prepared to move with intention, awaken vitality, and reconnect with the steady, vibrant energy that already resides within you.
