About this Event

Prairiewood is a new documentary shining a spotlight on the fight to protect the last largest contiguous stand of wild tallgrass prairie on the continent, near Manhattan, Kansas. Once spanning from Texas through Minnesota, the tallgrass prairie is now one of the most endangered ecosystems on Earth, with less than 4% remaining.

The owners, advocates, and stewards of Prairiewood Preserve, Kail and Rebecca Katzenmeier, began this adventure almost 30 years ago. Kail and Beck will be in attendance to answer questions after this 27-minute film. See the preview trailer here.

Reservations are required as space is limited.

Drinks and small plates will be available for purchase to enjoy before the screening.

The evening's schedule:

  • 4 p.m. Happy Hour Reception — Bar open and small plates available for purchase.
  • 5 p.m. — Film
  • 5:30 p.m. — Q&A with Kail and Beck
  • 6 p.m. — Post-film afterglow mingling

It would be great to have you at this event. There will be other folks in the room who share your passion and interest in this kind of work, and we can't wait to see what connections are made during this gathering.
