About this Event

Join Urban Strategies Council, the Women’s Environmental Network (WEN), and the East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) for an interactive Civic Season event centered around nature, art, parks, and career exploration.

The event will include:

🌿 A short, Naturalist-guided walk at Serpentine Prairie, learning about California’s state flower, rock, and bird in their natural habitat, as well as rare endangered plants.

☀️ A hands-on cyanotype activity, where participants create sun-powered art prints using natural materials, drawing inspiration from the legacy of women who have documented and interpreted the natural world.

🏞️ An opportunity to learn about careers in your regional parks and a discussion on how to contribute to the ongoing EBRPD District Plan update.

🍕 Pizza and light refreshments will be provided.

Throughout the experience, we will highlight and celebrate women’s leadership in expanding access to open spaces and advancing environmental stewardship, connecting past movements to ongoing efforts for equity in public lands.
