About this Event
February 1st marks the midpoint of winter or Imbolc. Imbolc is about hope: a reminder that we are turning a corner and moving toward spring. At Shakti in the Mountains, we are choosing to celebrate this holiday by practicing hygge, a Danish word that conveys “a concept of coziness and contentment that comes from enjoying life’s simple pleasures.”
In the midst of the cold season, we invite you to make time for self care by entering a relaxing and welcoming space. Bring your favorite blanket, mug, cozy socks, and quiet non-electric activity. (Think of an art or craft activity or bring a book. We also will have supplies on hand.)
During the first hour of our gathering, we will make candles and discuss the practice of hygge, even when there is a power outage or other incident. Soup, bread and hot tea will be served.
We also invite you to bring ten (10) bags of your favorite tea for a Tea Exchange.
