An Evening of Learning, Connection & Board Pathways
Strong governance is foundational to effective leadership. It builds trust, accountability, and long-term organizational success, especially for non-profits, chambers, and member-based organizations serving their communities.
Join Watson Board Advisors for a practical, real-world governance education session designed for current board members, emerging leaders, and individuals interested in board service.
This evening will also create meaningful connections between local non-profits and those looking to contribute their skills through board and volunteer roles.
What You’ll Learn
● The fundamentals of effective board governance
● Core director duties, including fiduciary duty and duty of care
● Roles and responsibilities of boards, board chairs, and management
● Understanding the distinction between governance and operations, and navigating “the line”
● The skills, experience, and perspectives boards are seeking today
● How to step into board service and position yourself as an effective director
The session offers practical insights grounded in real-world experience and will conclude with a dedicated Q&A.
Participants are encouraged to bring their questions for the presenters.
