Powwow Dinner + Dance
Join us for an evening celebrating food, dance, community, and contemporary powwow culture at the Sioux City Art Center.
Enjoy buffalo and corn soup prepared by Chef Anthony Warrior of Warrior’s Palate, along with Debra Walker’s famous frybread. Following dinner, the New Breed drum group from Winnebago, Nebraska, will lead a group of dancers representing regional Native nations.
The event is presented in conjunction with Savannah Berlyn Anderson’s exhibition Powwow Portraits, featuring striking photographs celebrating the people, regalia, artistry, and traditions of contemporary powwow culture. The exhibition includes portraits created during the 2026 Powwow on the Winnebago Reservation, along with examples of regalia and handcrafted moccasins from Anderson’s Moccasin Portraits series.
Powwow Portraits will be on view October 22, 2026–January 10, 2027.
