EirGrid is Powering Up Wicklow.
Powering Up Wicklow is a critical programme that will strengthen key electricity infrastructure in Wicklow and the surrounding areas, helping to make Ireland ‘renewable ready’.
As part of the 'Powering Up Wicklow' programme, EirGrid is looking to redevelop the Arklow 220Kv electricity substation.
This substation is reaching its end of life and needs to be replaced. A Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Substation has been identified as the best solution to address the region’s growing electricity demand.
EirGrid will be holding a pop-up information event to provide members of the public with information on Powering Up Wicklow and the Arklow Station Redevelopment.
