Powering Futures: MATC's Bold Path Forward

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Anthony Cruz, President of Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), as our featured guest for an upcoming luncheon presentation. Dr. Cruz will share insights into Ascend Together, MATC’s bold new strategic plan aimed at increasing graduation rates and preparing students for family-supporting careers. The plan is built on three core priorities: Student Success, Community Trust, and Caring Community, reflecting MATC’s commitment to transforming lives and strengthening the Milwaukee region.

MATC has been a vital part of our community since 1912. With a student body of more than 31,000, MATC plays a critical role in shaping the region’s future. In fact, over 90% of MATC graduates stay in the metro Milwaukee area to pursue their careers and raise their families—making MATC a true powerhouse in our local workforce pipeline.

Student success at MATC means more than academic achievement. It includes transformative learning experiences and access to supportive resources designed to help students thrive. One such resource is the new Career Closet, which equips students for job interviews by offering resume reviews, interview tips, and access to professional attire.
