Howdy AllI hope you have all enjoyed festive season with your friends and families.
Its time to get organized for the second half of our speedboat calendar of the 2025/26 events.
Our next Powerboat Picnic is on February 14th at the Goolwa Aquatic Club and we would love to see all of you there.
Just a reminder for the format of the day if you have not been involved with the changes we have implemented from the start of this 2025/26 season.
Key items that participants will need to be aware of.
• Participants will need to be either a financial GAC Member, or a financial member of the ASBC, the RPBC or an interstate Vintage and Veteran type club.
• An entry form and fee of $50.00 will be required for each Picnic Day
• Boat scrutineering will be required to ensure that each boat complies with the basic safety requirements listed on the sample attached. Some of these items we are happy to see introduced during the course of the season, for example a helmet is mandatory, but the colour can be addressed during the year.
GAC Membership forms, entry forms, boat scrutineering forms and a copy of the drivers briefing are available on the GAC website. https://www.goolwaaquaticclub.com/
Hover on the Speedboats tab on the opening page. Please print off and fill in the ‘Event entry form’ and bring it with you.
Have a read of the ‘Scrutineering form’ to see what we are looking for, also have a read of the ‘Drivers Briefing’ and get yourself familiar with that info.
• A driver briefing will be conducted at the start of the day
• Breath testing will also be done at the start of the day prior to boats going on the water.
• Picnic Days will be run to a timetable as follows
o Collection of Entry Forms and Fees 9.30 – 10.30
o Scrutineering 9.30 – 10.30
o Breath Testing 9.30 – 10.30
o All participants must be in the pits by 10.00am
o Driver Briefing 10.45am
o Boats on the water 11.00am
o Boats off the water 3.00pm
The Speedboat Committee has endeavoured to keep the requirements as simple as possible for participants whilst still meeting our obligations.
The dates for the remaining events for this season are,
• Saturday 14th February Picnic Day
• Saturday 14th March Picnic Day
• Saturday 11th April Aquafest Spectacular
• Sunday 12th April Aquafest Spectacular
Fingers crossed for some great weather, lets get back out on the water and have some fun.
