A practical in-person session on Lasting Power of Attorney, when it may help carers, and where to find advice.
About this Event

This in-person event, with an online option, is for people who currently care for an adult dependent, and people who want to plan for future caregiving responsibilities.

Could a Power of Attorney make things easier for you or someone you care for? Join this informal, practical session to explore what Power of Attorney means, when it might be useful, what a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) involves and where to find further advice and support. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

Dr Charlotte Emmett will provide an overview of the legal framework for Power of Attorney.

The session is co-hosted by the NU Carers Network, Northumbria University, UK Parents and Carers Together, and Newcastle Carers.

You do not need to have a Power of Attorney in place or identify as a carer to attend. If you support a family member, friend or someone close to you, this session could be useful. Everyone is welcome.
