We invite you to help our community “see” poverty differently so we can work together to change it.The Poverty Simulation is a guided, research-based experience that helps participants better understand the realities faced by families with limited resources. It’s designed for businesses, educators, nonprofits, healthcare, civic organizations, faith communities, and more.
Research shows that after participating, individuals often develop greater empathy, reduce judgment, and shift their thinking from “poverty = personal failure” toward “poverty = structural challenge.”
Volunteers are the heartbeat of this event! They take on roles representing community services so participants of the simulation can have a realistic experience and a meaningful debrief afterward.
Join us for this inquiry session to learn more about how the simulation works, what volunteers do, and how you can be part of it.
