A group of folks that are part of the VIntage Football Community are planning to get together to do a tour of the greater Pottsville area on Saturday, August 16th, 2025. We'll be discussing the Maroons and other anthracite / early NFL teams along the way. We put together a flier for anyone that wants to join in the fun!
10:00- 11:00 Schuylkill County Historical Society - New Pottsville Maroons exhibit unveiled May 15, 2025. ($10 admission fee).
11:00 - 12:00 Yuengling Brewery Tour - America’s Oldest Brewery (free)
12:00 - 13:00 Lunch in Pottsville Palermo Pizza and Restaurant
13:15 - 13:30 Minersville Park - Home to the Pottsville Maroons for most home games while in the NFL.
13:30 - 14:00 Yorkville Hose and Fire Co - Historic site and home to the Pottsville Eleven. Stop by Joe Zacko’s Sporting Goods Store if time permits
15:00 - 16:00 Jim Thorpe Monument & Downtown - A monument to Wa-Tho-Huk’s athletic career as an Olympian and football player.
