Beginner Pottery Wheel Workshop
*Intended for ages 16 and older*
Discover the joy of working with clay in our beginner-friendly pottery wheel workshop! Whether you've never touched a pottery wheel or you're looking to refresh your skills, this hands-on class is the perfect introduction to the art of wheel throwing. Guided by an experienced instructor, you'll learn the basics of centering clay, pulling walls, and shaping simple forms like bowls or cups. We'll provide all the tools, materials, and step-by-step guidance—no prior experience needed. By the end of the workshop, you'll have created your very own piece to be fired and glazed. Come ready to get your hands a little dirty and unleash your creativity in a relaxed, supportive environment. Perfect for solo creatives, date nights, or a fun outing with friends!
What’s Included:
1 - 1.5 hours of guided instruction
All materials, tools, and 1.75lbs clay
Kiln Firing
Colored glaze options
Small class size for personal attention
Optional Features:
Firing your clay to bisqueware before painting: $10(plus tax) per person.
Adding a handle to your cup: $8(plus tax) Per piece.
🌀 Pottery Wheel Timeline & Firing Information:
Pottery wheel pieces require additional time and care to ensure the best results. After your item is created, it must be trimmed, allowed to fully dry, and then go through our kiln firing process.
All wheel-thrown items receive two firings. From the date of your class, the full process typically takes
approximately 3–4 weeks, depending on drying time and kiln scheduling. During class, you will be given the option to paint (glaze) your piece while it is still on the wheel at
no additional charge. If you prefer to have your piece fired first and return at a later time to paint, an additional fee will apply for the return glazing session.
⏰ Class Start Time Policy
To respect all guests and ensure the best experience for everyone, all classes will begin within the first five minutes of the scheduled start time. If you arrive late, you are absolutely welcome to jump in and catch up as best as possible; however, instruction will already be in progress. We appreciate your understanding, as we need to begin on time for guests who have signed up and arrived promptly. Thank you for helping us create a smooth and enjoyable class experience for all.
Balance due will have taxes applied upon studio check out.
