Pottery Wheel for Beginners- 4 Week Session

Ready to actually learn the pottery wheel, not just try it once? This 4-week pottery wheel session is designed for beginners who want real skills, real practice time, and real progress. Over four weeks, you’ll move from centering clay to shaping forms, glazing finished pieces, and firing your work in a fully equipped studio.

Unlike one-time classes, this session gives you time on the wheel, guidance from an expert instructor, and studio access outside of class so you can practice as much as you want. This class is perfect for first-timers or anyone looking for a new hobby that’s equal parts chill and challenging. No experience needed. Just curiosity, patience, and a willingness to get a little messy.

Course Duration: 4 weeks, with one 2-hour session per week.

Course Dates & Times*: Tuesdays, from 6pm-8pm

• Session 1: January 13, 20, 27 & February 3.
• Session 2: February 10, 17, 24 and March 3.

*Students must be able to attend all sessions; there are no make-up dates.

• How to center clay on the wheel
• Basic wheel throwing techniques and form building
• Trimming and refining your pieces
• Glazing fundamentals and surface design
• How firing works from start to finish

You’ll leave with new skills, confidence at the wheel, and multiple finished ceramic pieces.

• 4 guided weekly pottery wheel classes

• Access to studio glazes (no per-piece limits)
• All tools, materials, glazing, and firing included
• Instruction from an expert ceramic artist
• BYOB-Friendly + All Materials Provided: Bring your favorite drink (21+) and we’ll provide everything else— aprons, clay, tools, instruction, and good vibes.

• For ages 18 and up
• Short nails are best for working with clay
• Finished pieces will be ready for pickup in about 10 business days. We’ll store your work safely for up to one month after completion.
• No refunds for cancellations made less than 48 hours before class (we prep materials and plan with you in mind!).
