Christchurch pottery lovers are invited to a brand-new creative event - the inaugural Pottery Festival at St Faith's Historic church, New Brighton!The festival will showcase the work of 28 South Island potters, bringing together an impressive range of functional and sculptural ceramics. Guest Exhibitors include well-known New Zealand potters Jane McCulla and Tatyanna Meharry, a WOW Award winner, alongside emerging and established ceramic artists from across the region.
This two-day event marks the first time the festival has been held and is expected to become a highlight on Christchurch's arts calendar. Entry is free, making it an accessible and welcoming event for families, collectors, and anyone curious about pottery and handmade craft.
In addition to celebrating creativity, the festival has a strong community focus, with a commission from sales contributing to Te Waka Aroha St. Faith's community projects, including supporting people who are homeless and isolated; elder care; affordable food provision; and much more.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the artists, purchase unique handmade ceramics, and enjoy a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere in the heart of New Brighton.
