Held beneath a sweeping white tent on the grounds of The Mint Museum Randolph, this celebrated annual event brings together more than 55 exceptional ceramic artists and welcomes over 1,500 collectors, art enthusiasts, and visitors for a weekend dedicated to the art of clay.
Potters Market at the Mint is proud to be presented as part of Handwork: Celebrating American Craft 2026, a nationwide initiative honoring the artists, makers, and traditions that have shaped American craft. As North Carolina's first art museum and home to one of the Southeast's premier craft and design collections, The Mint Museum is honored to participate in this national celebration through one of its longest-running and most cherished events.

2026 VIP Potters Preview Party | Friday, September 25, 2026 | 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Includes dinner, beverages, live bluegrass music, and the first opportunity to purchase works by participating ceramic artists. The evening will also feature remarks celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Potters Market at the Mint and presentation of the 2026 Artist Awards by Awards Juror Virgil Ortiz.
2026 Potters Market | Saturday, September 26, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Includes access to the Potters Market tent and admission to Mint Museum Randolph. Guests can enjoy specialty coffee from BRÜ Coffee, purchase bouquets from a local flower truck, participate in a blind auction, and shop works from more than 55 juried ceramic artists. Acclaimed ceramic artist Virgil Ortiz will present a free public lecture from 1:00–2:00 PM. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the Café.
2026 Potters Symposium & Artist Talk | Sunday, September 27, 2026 | 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
The weekend concludes with a special symposium featuring renowned North Carolina potter and author Mark Hewitt. From 2:00–4:00 PM, Hewitt will present a keynote lecture on the past, present, and future of North Carolina ceramics before moderating a panel discussion with notable ceramic artists from across the state. A reception will follow from 4:00–5:00 PM, offering an opportunity for guests to continue the conversation and connect with fellow artists, collectors, and ceramics enthusiasts. Admission is free, though registration is encouraged.
