Potomac River Waterfront & Old Town Alexandria! Jones Point 6/10k 3/6mi

Walk along the scenic Potomac River Waterfront, Old Town Alexandria and several parks. The 6km trail is a guided group walk. Trails featured are 6 or 10 km (3.1 or 6.2 miles). Both have limited elevation gain. The trails cross a half-mile pedestrian bridge over Great Hunting Creek. 10 km walkers will also see the memorial in the Contrabands and Freedman Cemetery, the burial place for 1,800 African Americans who fled to Alexandria during the Civil War.
The walk is $2 for guests to defray expenses for our sport and $4 for AVA walk credit. Please bring correct change in cash (we can't do e-payment). We featured curated walks led by experienced members. Dogs and children are welcome but those under 18 must have a guardian present. Arrive by 9:45 am to register so we can leave by 10:00 am. In Old Town Alexandria we can have a snack or lunch. Dogs and children are welcome but those under 18 must have a guardian present. Look for walk hosts Steve Brown and Rob Grunewald by their cars.
