Potjiekos competition and rugby

It’s the Potjiekos Cook Off and Rugby to enjoy your favourite home made cuisine and to bring Southern Africans together.

Rugby Autumn International game shown: SA vs Wales at 3:10pm. 

Come show off your cooking skills. Big prizes are up for grabs!! If you’d like to compete please text Andre to confirm you’d like to take part and to pay the entrance fee of £20. Andre: +44 7464 434484. 

If you don’t want to cook that’s fine just come along grab a drink and enjoy the gees. You can always tip someone for a taste of their home made grub and the pub will be selling great tasting food as well so there’ll be plenty of options. No entrance fee needed if you’re not cooking and you just want to come along. 

We’ll be in the upstairs room above the pub where there’s a covered balcony so no need to worry about rain. Moenie worry about the cold either as there’s an indoor room where you can sit and watch your potjie. 

So the idea is to all cook our potjies together over gas braais show off your culinary skills share our recipes and just enjoy getting together again. The judges will announce the winners of the best potjie after the rugby. 

Bring your own ingredients potjie pot gas braai/potjie cooker/bushman fire tongs deck chairs etc. 

Meat won’t be on sale so please bring your own👍

We’ll also have one braai on the go for those who would rather braai some meat but please bring some wood/charcoal. Thanks  🍖

We’ll have a sound system playing the best Saffa choons while whipping up our meaty nosh. 

For allowing us to use their grounds please support the pub and buy your drinks from them. We kindly ask that you don’t bring your own drinks on to the premises👍

Kids and dogs are welcome. No entrance fee and no need to book just come along and kuier. 🥘🍻🎶

Plenty free parking on site right next to the venue. (Car registration sign up is no longer required)
