About this Event
Join us for our next exciting multigenerational workshop. As always, this gathering will be centered on Black land connection, Black health and of course Black Joy! We welcome Black children, adults, parents, caregivers, aunties, uncles, grandparents, teachers and community members (and their loved ones) to join us.
About this workshop:
Cold and flu seasons are on their way. Let's use the power of plants to make our own fiery potion to fight off illness. In this workshop we will make Fire Cider. Fire Cider is a potent herbal tonic made from a blend of raw, organic ingredients, including garlic, onions, ginger, jalapenos, horseradish, lemon, spices, and apple cider vinegar. This infusion is left to steep for several weeks, creating a fiery and flavorful potion. Antioxidant rich Fire Cider is known for its magical powers to help strengthen the immune system, support with digestive health and reduce inflamation in the body
About The Host
Hummingbirds Urban Farming Collective is dedicated to creating deep connections to land and community for Black children and the communities that help to raise them up.
Why join us?
-Taking time to learn about growing our own food moves us closer to self determination.
-Spending time outdoors in natural spaces reminds us of the abundance that surrounds us and offers our systems a chance to reset
-By leaning about afro-ecology we can begin to rewrite the narrative about Black history, Black ingenuity and Black legacies.
-Spending time in beloved community is good for the soul and our emotional well being.
