Please join us in this post-show Panel Discussion with our special guest Brian Beals moderated by James Gunter of Present Pillars. Mr. Beals' most recent production “Searching for Justice” premiered to a sold-out house at Steppenwolf’s Ensemble Theatre this past week. The production was created in collaboration with the Restore Justice Foundation and the Mud Theatre Project, a nonprofit founded by Beals in 2024 to tell original stories about the prison system.Beals himself was exonerated from prison last February after serving 35 years for a crime he didn’t commit. His nonprofit is an outgrowth of the Dixon Correctional Center Performing Arts Program, a PEN America award-winning program Beals founded in 2018 while still incarcerated. The characters depicted in the play CLYDE'S are also shown trying to re-enter society as they toil together working in a roadside diner. Other panelists will include members of the cast and crew, as well as other special guests. This event is free and open to the public.
