About this Event
Welcome to the Fairfield Police Department PELLETB Registration! Get ready to showcase your skills and join our team of dedicated officers. The event will take place on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the Art Koch Range and Training Facility.
This is your opportunity to register for the POST Entry Level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB) exam and the Fairfield Police Department Physical Agility test!
Space is LIMITED! Book your spot soon!
The PELLETB examination is required as the first portion of the testing process to continue in the hiring process with the Fairfield Police Department and many other law enforcement agencies in California.
The PELLETB is a multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank written examination designed to measure reading and writing ability. Tests take 2 hours and 15 minutes to administer, which includes instructions and exam time. The PELLETB contains four sections:
- Spelling (applicants select the correct spelling of a word from a list of options)
- Vocabulary (applicants select the correct meaning of a word from a list of options)
- Clarity (applicants select the sentence that is most clearly written from a pair of options)
- Reading Comprehension (applicants read a passage and answer questions about the passage’s content)
If you have taken the PELLETB examination within thirty days of this testing date, you are not eligible to take the examination.
***If you have completed the PELLETB examination within the last 12 months and received a total T-score of 45 or higher, you do not need to take this portion again to apply for the Fairfield Police Department Police Officer Trainee.
SPACE IS LIMITED. Applicants are encouraged to sign up quickly as spaces may fill up!
Physical Agility Testing (Optional)
Applicants interested in employment with the Fairfield Police Department are also invited to participate in the Fairfield Police Department Physical Agility Test (PAT) immediately following the PELLETB examination.
The Fairfield Police Department PAT mirrors the POST Work Sample Test Battery and consists of the following five events:
- 99-yard obstacle course
- 165-pound dummy drag
- 6-foot solid wall climb
- 6-foot chain-link wall climb
- 500-yard run
NOTE: The Fairfield Police Department PAT is specific to Fairfield Police Department applicants and may not be accepted by other law enforcement agencies.
📢 Space is limited. Applicants are encouraged to register early, as seats may fill quickly.
