Portsmouth Community Engagement Session

These community engagement sessions are focused on Crawford Bay, a 6-acre section of the Portsmouth waterfront. This is a phase of a larger waterfront redevelopment effort, which will eventually include the Civic Center/former J*il site.

At these sessions, you’ll learn what’s happening, what’s possible, and share your ideas and priorities around the types of uses, amenities, and activities you’d like to see along Portsmouth’s waterfront.

Your input will help shape the types of uses and amenities that the City asks developers to consider. The City will also share your priorities and goals with prospective developers, so please come prepared to tell us what Portsmouth’s waterfront means to you.

This meeting is:

• Focused on the Crawford Bay site
• A chance to learn what’s happening and what’s possible
• An opportunity to share your ideas and priorities for this site
• A way to help shape what the City asks developers to bring forward

This meeting is not a:

• vote on a final plan
• decision about the entire waterfront
• developer selection meeting

• What kinds of uses and amenities would you like to see on the Crawford Bay site specifically?
• What would make you want to spend more time in this area? What would make you want to bring visiting family and friends to the waterfront?
• What is the most important thing you’d want a developer to know about Portsmouth/the community’s goals and vision for the waterfront?
• What is the most important thing you’d like the City to keep in mind when reviewing proposals from developers?
