Joey Halverson, VP of Operations, TOTE Maritime Alaska

If you wear it, eat it, or drive it in Alaska, there's a good chance that it came to you via the Tacoma-based TOTE Maritime company. Since 1975, TOTE has supported Alaskan communities by delivering a third of the state's goods, including groceries, building supplies, and vehicles. The company's people-first culture and their commitment to service, safety, and environmental stewardship have allowed them to forge an essential Tacoma–Anchorage connection. Joey Halverson, TOTE Maritime Alaska's VP of Operations, will present an inside look at the innovation, efficiency, and dedication that make TOTE the 49th state's dedicated shipping partner.

ABOUT JOEY HALVERSON
Joey Halverson leads operational strategy while fostering continuous improvement across the organization as Vice President of Operations. His leadership prioritizes safety, enhances efficiency, and cultivates a collaborative culture within the operations team. Prior to his current role, Halverson held key leadership positions at TOTE Services, including roles as Port Engineer and Director of Ship Management. With a robust background in marine engineering, ship management, and operational leadership, Halverson brings invaluable expertise to the role.

Before joining TOTE, Halverson spent seven years sailing at various levels on an engineering license before transitioning to shoreside operations. He played a key role in overseeing the construction of five Jones Act tankers, ensuring the integrity and quality of machinery installations over the course of two years.

Halverson holds a bachelors degree in Marine Engineering systems from the United States Merchant Marine Academy and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Boise State University.
